STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA (January 15, 2015) - Tony & Carol Noceti from Noceti Group have announced the oval track racing schedules for the paved Stockton 99 Speedway and the Stockton Dirt Track for the 2016 season. The pavement schedule will be one of the largest in several years with an increased emphasis on local points racing, while the dirt track will continue to be home of dirt open wheel action in the valley.
Noceti Group also promotes the San Joaquin Asparagus Festival, which will hold its second annual revival at the San Joaquin County Fairgrounds April 15-17. Organizers are emphasizing race cars more in the 2016 edition and invite race car teams of all kinds to display during Stockton's largest annual event.
The historic paved quarter-mile Stockton 99 Speedway, located at N. Wilson Way, will see the return of both Late Models and Grand American Modifieds for points racing. The Super Stock division has been re-branded as Stockton Late Models, incorporating many different engines under one unified rules package. Stockton Late Models will compete in ten races over the course of the season. Grand American Modifieds were a staple division at Stockton 99 throughout the 90s and 2000s and return after a one-year hiatus for eight points races. The popular Bomber division will also have ten points races while the track's youngest drivers in the California Mini Cups appear on the program five times.
Special events at Stockton 99 Speedway this year include the three race Tri-Holiday Series on May 28th (Memorial Day weekend), July 2nd for the Firecracker 100, and September 3rd (Labor Day weekend). 100 lap Pacific Challenge Series Super Late Model features headline all three nights. The fastest cars to ever hit the quarter-mile, King of the Wing Sprint Cars return on August 6th along with mighty BCRA Midgets. A variety of vintage classes will compete to thrill the crowd as well.
A pair of Swap Meets book end the season beginning with March 6th's 9th Annual Swap Meet Hot Rod, Race Car & Antique Collectibles show. General admission is just $5.
Racing gets underway on May 14th for the Stockton Late Models and Grand American Modifieds with the championship points night set for September 17th.
Over on the dirt side of things, action will continue for a fourth season at the beautiful 3/8ths mile Stockton Dirt Track located inside the one-mile horse track at the San Joaquin Fairgrounds. The facility is one of the newest and nicest in the state. Preparations are already underway and tickets on sale for the "Greatest Show on Dirt" the World of Outlaws Sprint Cars on March 18th and 19th. The WoO race has quickly become one of the premier motorsports events in the Central Valley. This year the Outlaws race gets even bigger as 360 Sprint Cars join the action making for a Sprint Car double header each night!
A complete weekend of racing incorporates the adjacent 1/7th mile Delta Speedway on Thursday night where professional Sprint Car drivers will appear and race with the Micro Sprint stars. Friday night will also have a post-race fan party with meet and greets and live music.
World of Outlaws sets the stage for a complete season of open wheel racing including the King of the Wing 410 Sprint Cars on three occasions. All three events honor a racing legend including May 21st with the Tribute to Leroy Van Connett, June 18 for the inaugural Jimmy Sills Classic, and the two day Tribute to Gary Patterson November 4th and 5th.
The popular Monster Truck Madness show returns September 30th and October 1st, plus the Summer Nationals Tractor Pulls on June 17th. The Kenny Wallace Racing Experience appears twice as well.
