Dave Grayson's Hot Racing Tickets For November 5th

By Dave Grayson

Many of our tracks, here in the western states, are locking their gates after finishing their regular season schedule. However, there are some tracks who are promoting some post season special events and they are the focus of this weekend's hot tickets.

ORANGE SHOW SPEEDWAY. 1/4 MILE. SAN BERNADINO, CA. www.theorangeshowspeedway.com SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 5TH.

The Orange Show has the distinction of being the hottest ticket of the upcoming weekend when they present the 1 800 Loan Mart - Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse 3d Annual West Coast Outlaw Figure 8 300 Lap Championship this Saturday night. At press time there were approximately 30 entries with more expected. Many of these entries are towing in from the midwest states which prompts the question: why would they travel all the way to California to participate in this event. The answer is major bragging rights and a winner's check worth $10,000.

Also on the Saturday night race agenda will be the OSS's popular Mini Stock division who be treating their fans to a 100 lap main event that pays $1,000. Mini Stock racing at the OSS has a tendency to get rather intense sometimes and, with $1,000 on the line, we can pretty much expect the intensity level to be turned up a few notches Saturday night.

The OSS weekend begins on Friday evening with a practice session from 6 to 10 pm. On Saturday race day there will be a second practice from 12 to 2 pm followed by Mini Stock qualifying at 215 pm and Outlaw Figure 8 qualifying at 315 pm. The spectator gates will open at 4 pm with the green flag falling on all of this incredible action at 6pm.

Tickets for this show are very budget friendly for all of this racing. General admission adult tickets are only $12 and $10 for seniors and youth. Kids age five and under as well as military personnel will be admitted free. There's also a $5 charge for the main parking lot.

Also on the race agenda will be the King of the Track with all past champions being honored including all racing divisions from the Tucson Speedway, Tucson Raceway Park, Corona Speedway and Raven Raceway. The spectator gates will open at 3 pm followed by racing at 5pm.
