Buddy Shepherd Sweeps Madera Late Model 2020 Opening Race

MADERA, Calif. (June 6, 2020) – Two-time Nut Up Pro Late Model champion Buddy Shepherd had a perfect Madera Speedway season opener on Saturday afternoon, sweeping qualifying, the heat race, and leading all 40-laps of the feature. The 2020 season opener attracted 15 non-televised Madera Late Models to the one-third mile asphalt oval at the Madera fairgrounds.

Green Flag Flies For Racing At Madera With Action To Resume June 6

MADERA, CALIF. (June 1, 2020) – Madera Speedway will open its gates for racing competition on Saturday June 6th, with the Madera Late Models and Toyotas on the card for the first event of the 2020 season. Madera Speedway has moved into the racing phase of its reopening plan, with approval from the Madera County Health Department.

Madera Speedway Announces Approval For Phased Opening

MADERA, CALIFORNIA (May 4, 2020) – A path towards the opening of the 2020 racing season at Madera Speedway has been approved, speedway officials announced on Saturday after extensive discussions with Madera County. Phase one – limited competitor practice – has been given the go-ahead immediately at the one-third mile oval. Race operations ceased on March 12th – just two days before the scheduled MAVTV-televised Late Model opening night – as a result of the worldwide COVID19 Pandemic.

The scheduled race event for March 14th has been postponed. The future date for the Season Opener featuring the Nut Up Pro Late Model and 51FIFFTY Jr Late Model Series Race 2B Drug Free Big3 televised event will be announced as soon as it is possible.

Richest Season In Madera Speedway History Begins Saturday Night

MADERA, CALIFORNIA (March 10, 2020) –The richest season of stock car racing at Madera Speedway begins this Saturday night with the $5,000 to win Nut Up Pro Late Model 100 at the one-third mile speedway. The event also kicks off the RACE 2B DRUG FREE BIG3 Series, televised on MAVTV. A large field of 51FIFTY Jr. Late Models and Mini Cups vs. Bandoleros will be in action as well, joined by Modified Super Toyotas on the undercard.

Kiemele Partners With Toyota Of Redlands For 2020 Season

RIVERSIDE, CALIFORNIA (March 6, 2020) – 13 year-old Cody Kiemele and Toyota of Redlands have partnered for an ambitious 2020 campaign in Pro Late Model and Jr. Late Model competition. The three-time Jr. Late Model winner and two-time INEX Bandolero champion will race for the 2020 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model championship at Madera Speedway, televised on MAVTV. His season kicks off on March 14th for the first of nine races in the series.

Race 2B Drug Free BIG 3 Series Announced For Madera

MADERA, CALIFORNIA (November 25, 2019) – The Carlos Vieira Foundation and their Race 2B Drug Free Campaign have joined forces with the Madera Speedway to support the MAVTV-televised Nut Up Pro Late Model Series. An additional $75,000 will be up for grabs during the Race 2B Drug Free BIG 3 on March 14, July 25, and October 3.

Doss Is The Boss With $10,000 Short Track Shootout Win At Madera

MADERA, CALIFORNIA (October 5, 2019) – Jeremy Doss of Upper Lake added his name to a prestigious list of Nut Up Short Track Shootout champions, fending off numerous challengers for $10,000 in Saturday’s 150 lap classic at Madera Speedway. Doss was followed home on MAVTV by seventh finishing Austin Herzog, with the third-generation driver winning the 2019 Nut Up Pro Late Model championship.

MADERA, CALIFORNIA (September 25, 2019) – The stars of the SPEARS SRL Southwest Tour will go head-to-head with some of the valley’s favorite stock car drivers, when the tour hits the one-third mile Madera Speedway for Saturday’s 125 presented by 51FIFTY LTM. The FAST 75 presented by General Tire for the SPEARS Modified Series will be the co-headliner. Hobby Stocks, Legends of the Pacific, Toyota Sedans, and Legends of Kearney Bowl will also be competing.

Doss Wins Third Madera Race Of 2019 While Herzog Snags Points Lead

MADERA, CALIFORNIA (September 21, 2019) – Upper Lake’s Jeremy Doss scored his third win of the year in the Nut Up Pro Late Model Series on Saturday night, outfoxing 17 year-old Austin Herzog of Clovis for the $2,000 win. The MAVTV-televised night was a big one for the third-generation Herzog, however, as he takes over the points lead with just one round remaining in the prestigious series.

MADERA, CALIFORNIA (August 24, 2019) – Two-time Nut Up Pro Late Model champion Buddy Shepherd of Bakersfield climbed aboard a new car but delivered the same result, driving the Eshleman-owned 81 to victory lane in Saturday’s $2,000 to win event at Madera Speedway. Shepherd’s strong MAVTV-televised win puts a target on his back as a contender for the upcoming Short Track Shootout $10,000 to win race in October.

Madera, CA…… August 3, 2009….. The 2019 North State / Madera Hobby Stock Challenge, presented by Gone Fishin’ Marine, concluded at Madera Speedway Saturday night with Howard Holden of Clovis not only taking the $750 win in the 50 lap feature, but collecting enough points to earn the championship in the three-race series. Going into the feature, Steve Schermerhorn of Oakhurst and Holden were only two points apart with Schermerhorn out in front in the standings.

Madera, CA…. August 3, 2019….. Scott Winters of Tracy set a new NSMS Hoosier Tire track record at Madera Speedway Saturday night and went on to win his first feature event in the North State Modified Series, presented by Protect the Harvest. Winters’ win bolted the Ferrari Farms team to a margin of only nine points behind Cameron Austin of Santa Rosa in the NSMS championship race. He also was named the Keyser Hard Charger for the night.

MADERA, CALIFORNIA (July 27, 2019) – A $5,000 check and a polish victory lap capped a challenging Summer Speedfest 100 on Saturday night at Madera Speedway, with Jeremy Doss winning the sixth round of the MAVTV-televised Nut Up Pro Late Model Series. Doss emerged as the first repeat winner of the year after starting tenth on a red-hot evening at the one-third mile asphalt oval.

Love Finds Gerhardt Classic Victory Lane In Madera Thriller

MADERA, CALIFORNIA (July 13, 2019) – 14 year-old Jesse Love of Menlo Park came back home to Madera Speedway and grabbed a surprising victory in the 17th Gerhardt Classic 50 for the BCRA Midgets. Love, the two-time 51FIFTY Jr. Late Model Series champion, added to his already long list of “youngest ever” accomplishments, including youngest BCRA champion and youngest POWRi Midget podium finisher.

MADERA, CALIFORNIA (July 10, 2019) – The mighty Madera/BCRA Midgets roar back to Madera Speedway on Saturday night to headline the 17th Gerhardt Classic. A host of other divisions will be competing including the 100 lap California Challenge Cup feature plus the debut of the Central Valley Mini Stocks with a large field expected. Legends of Kearney Bowl, Focus Midgets, and NCMA Sprint Cars round out the scheduled divisions.
