Madera (Calif.) Speedway and Spoon River Speedway in Canton, Ill. host USAC Speed2 Midget races this Saturday. Adam Lemke leads the USAC Western Overall and Pavement points to Madera, while Andy Baugh sits atop the Engler IMRA standings entering Saturday's 2nd "Aaron Hull Memorial" at Canton and the Midwest Thunder series also shares billing at Canton.
Just like at this year's Indy 500, "Will" power prevailed Saturday night in the 25-lap USAC Laquerre Sports Speed2 DMA Midget race at Bear Ridge Speedway in Bradford, Vt. Will Hull of Plainfield, Vt. passed Manny Dias on lap 15 and led the final 11 circuits to take the win over Joe Krawiec, Dias, Seth Carlson and series point leader Jason Goff. The series resumes June 16 at Bear Ridge.
Rain forced a third consecutive cancellation in the Eastern Speed2 campaign Saturday at Southern National Motorsports Park in Kenly, N.C. Jessica Bean is the series point leader going into a June 16 race at South Boston (Va.) Speedway.
Rains also interrupted Saturday's IMRA program at Canton after the heats had been conducted. Jake Sollenberger and Robby McQuinn won the heats.
