SACRAMENTO, CALIFORNIA (August 31, 2016) - Round number ten of the hotly contested Pacific Challenge Series presented by PenneyLawyers.com will take the track on Saturday night as part of the coveted Tri-Holiday Series at Stockton 99 Speedway. The 68 year-old quarter-mile asphalt oval welcomes Super Late Models for the third time this year in a 100 lap event for double points, $2500 to win, and a minimum of $500 to each main event starter.

Upperlake's Jeremy Doss won three weeks ago at LoanMart Madera Speedway in MAVTV-televised competition. Doss' points lead is 32 points on paper but that margin shrinks with throwaway races factored in. A variety of factors led series officials to announce that the best nine finishes out of 12 points races would count towards the championship. With nine races completed, the current three drops would place the 2012 champion only ten points ahead of Modesto's Mike Beeler, the 2014 champion.

Beeler won the Firecracker 100 as part of the second round of the Tri-Holiday Series at Stockton on July 2nd and followed that up with a win at Ukiah Speedway on July 16th. Beeler won the third leg of the Tri-Holiday Series a year ago en route to second in the PCS standings. Beeler is working on his third consecutive "top-two" in Pacific Challenge Series points and is very much in the championship hunt.

Manteca's JR Courage is third in the points standings in the Walker Motorsports #37 entry. Courage had a strong July with a runner-up finish and laps led at Ukiah and a fourth place at Stockton. He finished eighth in the May race at Stockton as well.

Shasta winner Tracy Bolin of Valley Springs is fourth in the points after a strong third place effort at Madera. He set the track record for the series at Madera in March before it was broken by Doss in August. He has finished outside the top-ten in both Stockton races this year despite it being his home track.

Rounding out the top-five is Jeff Bischofberger of Tracy, CA. Bischofberger earned his first career touring stock car win at Stockton when he won a 2015 SRL race there. He has a pair of top-tens at the speedway this year. His 2016 season opened up with three consecutive third place finishes and recently he was fourth in the Madera race.

Lodi's Matt Wendt ranks sixth overall and fifth after throwaways and is eager to return to his home track as well. Wendt is a rookie in the PCS after a very successful career at Stockton in the Super Stock division where he won 11 of his final 14 starts at the venue. Wendt has finishes of tenth and sixth this year at the speedway and a best finish of fifth at Roseville on his 2016 resume.

2015 Rookie of the Year Cole Moore has been competing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series, West but returns to the PCS this weekend with a strong shot at the top-five in the points once throwaways are factored in. Moore is still looking for his first Stockton win while his father John won last year's Firecracker 100 at the venue on the way to the 2015 PCS championship and 2015 Tri-Holiday championship. John Moore navigated through a wild finish to finish third in the July race this season.

Loomis' Chris Scribner, Hayward's Danny Malfatti, and Elk Grove's Mike Hite are other PCS regulars fighting hard for the top-ten in the points. Former track champion Eric Schmidt set fast time and won the Memorial Day race while other local drivers such as Manteca's Ross Strmiska and Modesto's Kyle Gottula routinely compete with the PCS at Stockton.

Three-time All American Speedway champion and 2013 Stockton 99 Speedway champion Matt Scott will make his return to PCS on Saturday night. Scott is still looking for his first career PCS points win despite more than 30 Late Model wins in his young career. He finished fifth with the series in May of 2015 at Stockton.

The exciting Stockton Late Models, Legends of the Pacific, and Bombers round out a big night of racing on Saturday night. Saturday's American Racer Tire Dash will pay $500 to win and a set of tires will be offered if a driver can sweep both the dash and the main event.

Activities get underway Friday with practice beginning at 3 p.m. Pit passes are $40 for all ages. On Saturday, pit gates open at 1 p.m. with practices beginning at 3 p.m. Pit passes will again be $40 for all ages. Grandstand gates open at 5 p.m. with qualifying and racing to follow. Adult tickets are $20 with juniors 11-15 and seniors age 60+ $15 and kids ten and under are free!
